Santa Fe Trail Ranch had its
First Dusting of Snow

Snow started falling in the early hours and continued throughout the day. The sun broke through the low and heavily laden clouds a couple of times, but never long enough to move the temperature much above freezing. For those who had time to enjoy it, the snow was a delight - flitting around in large fluffy flakes on a light breeze. It was moist enough to hang onto shrubs and tree limbs, but not stalwart enough to last on the roads very long. For those who had to work in the weather, frosty cheeks and noses were the order of the day. In all, the ranch accumulated several inches of snow by nightfall.

Property owner and builder Paul Montoya checks behind the makeshift snow guard on one ranch project that didn't quite get completed before the first snow. Border Collie Rico ran through the snow all day long while his owner Harriet Vaugeois worked on the construction of her new home.
