FROM THE ASTRONOMER: Annular Solar Eclipse - October 14th, 2023

NOTE: BE SURE TO READ THE VIEWING REQUIREMENTS AT THE END OF THIS ARTICLE.

On October 14th, there will be an annular eclipse of the Sun that will be visible from Santa Fe Trail Ranch.  The Ranch is outside of the "Path of Annularity", meaning the moon would pass directly over the Sun but, still, approximately 85% of the Sun will be obscured at SFTR:

While winter brings its own set of challenges, it's also an excellent opportunity to take steps to mitigate wildfire risks to our homes and property. Introducing new Communications Committee Chair - John Gerald

As I move forward with new volunteer opportunities, I am excited to introduce John Gerald as the new Chairperson for the Communications Committee. John and his wife, Jean, moved to SFTR a year ago from Houston Texas and are so happy to be here in this wonderful area of Colorado.
