Monitor Fires and Disasters

As property owners on Santa Fe Trail Ranch, we live in an area that is susceptible to the threat of wildfires.

So how do we stay prepared and monitor when there is a fire in our general area?

Here is a list of some of the best fire apps you can install on your smart phone, so you’re alerted early on when there’s a fire threat in our area of Colorado:

  • DisasterAlert (Android & IOS):

    This app will provide you with early warnings about wildfires and other disasters in real-time.

  • Fireguard (Android & IOS):

    This app pulls data from NASA’s Fire Information for Resource Management Systems (FIRMS).

  • AFIS (Android & IOS):

    Monitor current threat of a wildfire starting in our area. Excellent for staying aware of a threat of a wildfire.

  • FWAC (Android):

    Monitor Fires, Weather and Avalanches – focuses on monitoring and warnings about backcountry threats.

  • Wildfire Info (Android & IOS):

    This app lets you view a satellite map with icons and markers representing the locations of reported fires.

The apps listed above a just a few of the many excellent applications you can find at the App Store for iOS or at Google Play for Android. Once you have chosen and app that you like make sure to turn on the early notifications in the configuration so the app will push a notification to your SMS (text) when there is a threat in your area.
