There are currently three Social Media platform applications available on Santa Fe Ranch: Facebook, Next-door and the Santa Fe Trail Ranch (SFTR) website. Each platform has pros and cons regarding the usage, access, and posting of information.

Facebook - a hidden, private platform available to listed property owners
Next-door - open to the public and includes SFTR, South Trinidad and Starkville.
SFTR Website - public except for Owner specific pages which are available to registered property owners and access must be requested.

Nextdoor is a social media application where people, businesses, and public agencies can find information, discuss, and enter things that are important to their community. This helps them work together to accomplish goals, no matter how big or small.

You can gain access to NextDoor by downloading the App from your app store (most common is Apple Store or Google apps).  Once downloaded, you will be directed to the Santa Fe Trail Ranch (SFTR) NextDoor location.  From there, you can register to be included in SFTR updated that are posted to nextdoor.

IMPORTANT NOTE  Nextdoor is NOT a recognized media format for posting information from the Property Owner Associate Board. The POA Board does not add any information to this site due to privacy issues.  POA information is posted on Facebook and the SFTR Website.

Facebook is a social network where users can post comments, share photos, links, chat live, and watch videos. It also allows you to sh are photos, messages, videos, status updates, and feelings. It's an entertaining daily stop for many users.

Unlike some social networks, Facebook prohibits adult content and bans reported users and it offers customizable privacy controls to protect user information from third parties; content can be public or shared with selected friends, family, or groups.

In order to gain access to Santa Fe Trail Ranch (SFTR) website, you must have your own personal account to start. (Go to Facebook login or sign up and register for an accout)wOnce you have that account established, go to the home page of the SFTR website (Home), scroll to bottom of screen, and click on Facebook SFTR.

Complete the registration information and submit your request for access (this request is sent to the Communications Committee), and after verification of SFTR ownership, you will then be granted access and an invite email will be sent to you so you can join.

NextDoor was originally adopted as the Ranch’s communication tool years ago, but changes like ads and expanded access have altered its function. Both NextDoor and Facebook are publicly traded companies making money through communication. Unlike NextDoor, Facebook offers hidden and private groups. This led the Board to choose Facebook. SFTR property owners can choose to join either platform or neither, but only they are permitted to do so.

Postings and comments are not authorized to be copied from one online media form (Facebook or the Santa Fe Trail Ranch Website) directly to Nextdoor.  The reason for this is due to NextDoor being a Publlic, general, open social network in which anyone can access the information on it.  There are little to no controls as to who can access the information contained.  The information posted on Facebook and the website is specific to rancfh owners, and much of this information is for owners and ranch specific operations - not for general public.

Yes - The Website is publicly accessible except for Owner Pages. To request an account, complete the form on the website. After verifying property ownership, you will receive an invitation with a password.

POA members do not conduct business on NextDoor. To contact a POA member, visit the SFTR Website for email addresses and phone numbers of all POA Board Members and Committee Chairs.
