New Board Member - Tim Storey

A Brief BIO + Q&A:

Who is Tim Storey?

Well… I spent a little time this week getting to know him that I would like to share.

Here is a brief bio and a Q&A:

Tim has been on the Ranch since 2014, making it a permanent residence 2015. He is married, has two children, a daughter in Ohio, a son In Indiana, and 3 grandkids. He was adopted by his two dogs (Belgian Malinois, OYA & Danno). He owns lots H1,H2 and is in the process of building a home on a third lot, D8.

Tim, originally from Indiana, earned an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University. He is President and owner of Storey Foundry Assistance, LLC a foundry equipment supply company that provides new equipment, spare parts, and technical assistance to casting manufacturers (foundries) in North America. He was the plant manager of Navistar’s Indianapolis foundry that manufactured the 7.3 liter Power Stroke engine for Ford. He worked with the United Auto Workers, United Steel Workers and various other unions. His work currently takes him off the ranch about 4 weeks a year. Tim has served on several board of directors, working with diverse groups of people. Currently, Tim is a member of our SFTR Cattle Grazing Committee.

One of my favorite questions…..How did you find SFTR?

“I had been coming to southern Colorado for several years hunting with my son. One of my favorite locations was lots H1 and H2 on SFTR! I fell in love with the land and its scenery! When this property became available for sale, I purchased it in 2014. By 2015, I had built a “barndominium” where I currently live while finishing a home on D8.

Why did you want to be on the SFTR Board?

“If one is going to live here, don’t just complain about issues. Get involved!  So, I completed the request form for an open seat, if one became available.”

What skills do you bring to the POA Board?

“I bring my past experience of being a member of several boards, focusing in the area of managing processes and responsible budgeting. Most importantly, I am a good listener and bring a fresh set of eyes and ears to this board.  Having met numerous residents, I have listened to their opinions. I understand what’s important to them to ensure property owner value and quality of life.”

What areas will you be focusing on as a Board Member?

“I see my responsibility on the Board is to provide transparency, listen to POA members, and execute decisions based upon the interests of the property owners while ensuring quality of life. I will be vigilant for responsible budgeting to maintain the value of our property.”

Good luck, Tim!

We appreciate the time you will be devoting along with SFTR experience and knowledge you bring to the Board.
